Conventional cotton farming is the second most polluting industry on our planet , after the oil industry. It represents 2.5% of the world's agricultural land, but uses 25% of pesticides and 10% of herbicides (source: WHO).

Some weed killers used even contain glyphosate, an ingredient classified as "probably carcinogenic to humans" by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
